The Family

Before we can begin this whirl wind of recounted moped tales of epic failure and spoiling victories, everyone must first get acquainted. I currently have 4 mopeds. Each one bringing something different to the mo-table.

1980 Puch Maxi
This guy right here was my first moped purchase. Little over a year ago. Really wanted a motorcycle but a friend(Brett Dollenger) convinced me otherwise. I figure "HEY! This can at least hold me over until i can afford a real motorcycle with insurance and what not!" So i just went on eBay and found this one. Not knowing anything about mopeds at all. I just happen to buy a 30 year old bike that ran like a dream. Started first kick every time and cruised a good 35. I almost regret trying to make it go faster. I know it will be sweet in the end though once i have it back up and running.

Here it is in its current state. Havnt had too much time to invest into this one as of late as i have been working on the pinto a lot... We'll get to that though. This one just needs exhaust, chain, and rewiring of all the electrical stuffs and it'll be blast'n in no time. Hope to have it ready for bomb prom.

1980 Sachs Prima G3
This one i bought from a super cool dude named Tim from a little gang in Cincinnati called The Bombardment Society. This was a mean machine in its day. GPS said it reached 58mph. Got me through most of Whiskey Business 2. But like all mopeds... it broke. The place where the spark plug screws into is getting more and more stripped. Thus losing lots of compression so now it goes about 25. Not really in a place to give Athena $300 for a new speed kit so now it sits. Probably end up selling this one in fact when i blow this taco stand called Cincinnati.

1978 JC Penny Pinto 2 Electric Boogaloo

Picked this one up last February. Bought it from TJs bikes up in Indiana. This guy was kinda shady though. A few bandits confirmed that he is indeed shady. Description of the bike said it "ran strong" but that was not the case at all. While the bike it self looked emaculate it had lots of internal damage to the engine, carb, and gas tank. I actually just took this one out no its first ride TODAY! It was very exciting. Took a lot of work getting running good. Still needs some fine tuning though. Namely higher jets and high flow air filter. Road around downtown hitting 30mph. Good enough for me!

Crapy Maxi
Dont know what year. This bike was interesting because it was in really bad condition. It was really rusty and had a lot of poorly done repairs. The Pedal Crank arms were bent in. You could just tell that it was not well kept at all. But the working Speedometer showed like 200 miles. After cleaning the carb and a little tinkering it ran good and kinda fast... It just felt like the bike was going to fall apart at any moment. So i took the engine off of this one and put in on the Pinto and its been a parts bike ever since.... But someday... When I'm way more knowledgeable than i am now. I'm going to do something crazy with it.... Not sure what that looks like... Just crazy moped dreams.

Your old G3 is in my hands now. Email me sometime, I'll send you pics of its new lease on life.
